Web site visits in saved search (turns into nerdy hacking ridiculousness)
I have a geeky project idea. I want to hang two lights on the wall in our marketing team's office area. I want one to blink every time we get a visit to our web site. The other will blink every time there's a sale via the web site. It's part of an effort to help my team feel the impact of their hard work.
The sales part is easy. A sales order with source=web sends an email alert to a gmail address and IFTTT.com reads that email and flashes a Phillips Hue bulb in our office. It even changes the bulb's color based on the item category. So far so good.
