Having trouble updating and inventory item

This is the warning I am getting when I try to update an existing inventory item.  What does this warning mean?  What fields do I need to enter to get around this?

"You have changed the account(s) for this item.  Click OK to update the accounts on existing transactions, or Cancel to stay on this page."
