Customizing a home page; which type of template do I use?

I have created item templates, category templates, and layouts before, but the home page seems to be different. I need to be able to pull info from the fields on the home page in NetSuite.

In item and category templates, I have used getCurrentAttribute TAGS.

However, I am not sure what tags to use in a template for the home page.

Does anyone have any specific instructions for me? Thank you.
