Item options default to first in a list?

Hi everybody,

We've got items with an option that sources from a field on the item record.  Some of the items have only one possible choice in the option field.  It would be nice to have the first one in the list pre-selected instead of just displaying a blank field and forcing the user to choose from a list of 1.

Is that possible?
