Showing Logged In when I am not??

Hi all,
I am having an issue when logging in to my web store site then leaving the browser and coming back to my site, It will show me as still logged in but when I go to view password protected pages is acts like I am logged out. I then have to log out and log back in. Has anyone ever have this issue before?
