Mandatory custom field in store form is messing up my other forms

I have a mandatory custom list that I applied to a single online customer form. It is a store value and automatically applies to the customer card as well. But now on every other online customer form that is in no way related to the one in question, it won't let the user submit it because it says it is missing this field value.

Is there anyway around this or would I have to take the field validation outside of netsuite and use javascript or something?
