Setting custom field value from WSDK add to cart

I'm trying to set the value of a checkbox from an external site. I'd like to mark a custom body field checkbox to true when a customer adds something to their cart. I'm trying to see when someone follows a partners referral link within a certain time period.

I've tried it as a parameter and as a hidden form input but I'm not having any luck. The field has been created and the id is custody_partner_click.

It just shows up blank on my test orders.
