Backorder message missing in Reference Checkout 2.04.0

Didn't the cart previously have a note by each item that is backordered?  We have items marked as "Allow backorder, but display backorder message".  Those items don't show as backordered in our cart.  I don't want to revert to v2.03.0, but I think this issue is new to v2.04.
