Hide Item Option but keep accessible to Backbone frontend model

I need to make a Item Option hidden to the user but accessible to Backbone front-end. So I have made that item option hidden (`Field ID: colstorehidden`).

But the item option still shows up in the Product Details Page. And that specific option is not in the Line Item model (options array).

Any advice on whats going wrong? And how I can hide an option from a user but still have it accessible within the `ItemDetails.Model`?

Note I have also tried to just set the `Field ID: displaytype` to hidden, ie, make the display type hidden. But the exact same problem occurs. Do I need to wait for a recache to occur for the changes to work properly?
