End-user tracking

We are a distributor that sells our products to end-users through a channel of resellers.
From a systems perspective this means that we sell items to Customers, and they deliver those items onwards to the end-user (their customer).
Around 90% of the time, we actually deliver direct to the end-user.
We want to be able to track both the end-user and the reseller on an order in such a way that we can report on them. For example, if an end-user enquires about the product we might want to look at the resellers they purchased from in past history. They may have purchased on several separate occasions, each time from different resellers, and we need to be able to look this up quickly.
