Assigning Case to Partner

Hi,

Is it possible for a partner with an Advanced Partner Center role to assign a case to himself?

Can this also be done via suitescript? Assigned To field only accepts employee record so doing a .setFieldValue("assigned", partner_id); throws and exception.

Any suggestions?
