Inventory Account Summary by Period to show on a graph

Is it possible to create an Inventory (total value) by period graph for the year?  I tried customizing the Balance Sheet Summary to just include the inventory account, I added the Accounting Period to the report, but when I run it, it only will give me 2 periods at time on the graph.
Does anyone know how I could get a graph to show me all of 2006 broke out by period on a graph?
