Pulling live data into Newsletters

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to import live data, such as items that are on special or featured items into newsletters?

Basically we want to develop one template that serves as a special offers newsletter that can pull our weekly updated special offers from the system without too much intervention or re-entering of html/images to the template.
