Grabbing Package Tracking Numbers into Email Templates

What is the best way to add package tracking numbers into an Email Template?  Upon shipment, we would like to send an email to our customers notifying them of the tracking number of the fulfillment. Preferably it would be a link that directs the customer to the shipping carrier.

Currently, we use WMS-Lite and it writes back the tracking number on the Packaging Sublist of the Item Fulfillment record.   There doesn't seem to be a good way to include these tracking numbers to the Email template.  

Anyone had any luck with this?
