Income Statement does not match Balance Sheet

Our year end net income reported on the Income Statement does not match our year end net income reported on the Balance Sheet.  Our company's fiscal year matches the calander year.  Therefore, we specify 1/1/06 to 12/31/06 on the Income Statement and 12/31/06 on the Balance Sheet.
The discrepency is not large but we cannot have an Income Statement with one income number and a Balance Sheet with a different income number.
If anyone has any ideas as to why this is occuring I would appreciate your help.
