Seeing list of available serial numbers in fulfillment - where?

I thought I had read that 2007.0 would have better serial number management for inventory items, including the ability to pick from a list of available serial numbers during fulfillment?

I see nothing that would suggest anything has been updated in terms of serial numbers. Can someone point me to docs or help on what has changed for this - if anything?
