Filtering Search

Our customer records have a custom field named account manager (similar setup as sales rep). 

I need to filter a search so that those customer records without a account manager are not included in the search.  I have tried several ideas with no luck.  I haven't yet seen a good example of this.

In the UI I do Account Manager, AnyOf, -Unassigned-.

Any ideas how to accomplish this through SuiteScript?
