Server Scripts Executing More Than Once

I'm running into a weird bug on one of my server-side scripts.  I have a server side script that is on the "BeforeSubmit" event of the assembly build form.  I have a custom field on the item that gets updated when the build is submitted.  But for some (not all) the builds this custom field is getting updated twice.  It looks like it is a double clicking issue.  It appears that the user can click the submit button more than once and it will fire the server-side script more than once, updating the custom field more than once.  Has anyone
