Error trying to automate invoice email address

:eek: Hi! 
I'm new to JavaScript and this is my first one but I think I'm close.  I got the error "You have entered an Invalid Field Value kburrows@xceedid.com for the following field: tobeemailed"

That's the email address I want in the field so why is it an invalid value?  I basically am pulling a custom field into an Invoice beforeSubmit so that I can send to the accounting dept instead of the purchasing dept without having to manually enter an email address for every invoice.  There is already an email address in the field, could that be why?
