Gross price on picking ticket

I tried this over in the Custom Forms section, perhaps it will fare better here.

Does anyone know how I can get the gross line price to appear on a custom PDF (used as a picking ticker), for a customer coming via the web store?

I can get as far as copying the gross price column into a new custom column (using scripts), and then sending that column through to the picking ticket. However, this doesn't work when the user comes via the web store, the script only fires when we edit the order and resave the form. None of the custom code triggers seem to do anything unless we edit the order ourselves.
