library.js - do you use it?

Relative n00b question here - I discovered the file 'library.js' in our SuiteScripts folder. It looks to be an interesting little treasury of functions.... NetSuiteHole(), Beacon().. prototype stuff... something about a Bypass Suitelet...

It looks like it was created by Netsuite. Looking through past work by 2 consulting companies on our account, though, the library isn't used in any of our scripts. Just out of curiosity, do you all use this library? Recommend it? Discard it and roll your own?
