Site Category Overlap - Best Practices?

Hi,

For our site's new design, we are developing a slew of new subcategories, some of which could appear in multiple main categories.  Is there any way to have this happen? 
Or should I just make this subcategory live in one place, and manually add a link to it in the other categories' subcategory lists?
