Ordered custom records

Hi -

Has anyone had any luck with the "Records are Ordered" option on a custom record?  I've cretaed a custom record, which is a child of "customer"  When editing the parent record, I'm able to rearrange the order of the custom records in the subtab, but when I hit save the records revert to the original order they were in.  Is there something else I need to do to get this working correctly?
