Inactive records auto-excluded from sub-list views as of 2012.2?

We were upgraded over the weekend. 

We have some list views for custom records subordinate to the customer record that previously displayed both active and inactive records (inactive = true or false).  However we've noticed this week that only inactive=false records display. 

This is new, and for us, unwanted behavior.  Sometimes we need to see the inactive custom records associated to the customer displayed within the list view on the record.

Anyone know anything about this?
