attempted to remove an active schedule from a plan

I'm getting this error when I try to remove a schedule from a plan:

You have attempted to remove an active schedule from a plan. Removing this participant is not permitted once commissions against the plan have been generated.



I just added the schedule to the plan this morning.  I have not created any commissions or authorized anything.  I added it just as a test and now it appears I may be stuck with it?

Anyone experienced this and know how to handle it?  How to get around it?
