Deprecated CRMSDK Templates

NetSuite, could you please clarify exactly what "Deprecated" means? I want to create a fully functioning email campaign template that pulls in data such as Customer First Name, Sale Rep Nickname, Sales Rep Signature, etc. Should I do this using a Scriptable Templates or CRMSDK Templates (Deprecated)?
