No Period Filter on Budget Search

I am trying to create a saved search that will source from the information on the budget.  When doing this there is no filter for period, only year.  I would think that the budget would be driven off periods as they work on the Budget v Actual reports. 
What I am attempting to do is create two saved searches on for a revenue line as a transaction search and a second search for the corresponding budget amount.  Then use a scorecard to compare the two. 

Any ideas?
