What is the best practices for managing inventory of items that do not hit the COGS account.  Examples include maintenance spare parts, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), etc.  We want to track counts and automate the replenishment of key items, but they are not classic 'inventory' from an accounting perspective as they may not be considered an Asset on the books and are not Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) expenses when consumed.
