Update Line Item Field without loading record

Hi Guru

Is there a way to update line item fields without loading the whole record and saving it?

I have a lot of messages from another system, and Netsuite takes about 4 seconds to load a sales order, update the line item fields and save the record.

Netsuite has a function called nlapiSubmitField but it is only for body fields.
