Applying Custom Segment to Discount Item for Purchase

We have started testing Withholding Tax
The initial issue we had was when Saving a transaction (i.e. Invoice) the additional Withholding Tax line would not save, and the error was we needed to populate our Custom Segments. On the Line item the custom segments were populated. Our Custom Segments are mandatory.
We understand this is not possible, and there is an Enhancement for this. #425956
The workaround is to set Default Values for the Custom Segments and then to have a script to change the default values to the correct values afterwards.
Two of our custom segments are Sourced from the Item record, on the transaction line. (Not the Department record)
