• Yes. there isn't much control on the choice of when and when your not updated. nature of on-demand software for now. Sorry, Ray, but I can't quite agree with that last bit. ;) There is nothing inherent in on-demand software that precludes the developer (NetSuite) from giving it's customers more control over when the…
• For any commercial organisation in pretty much every sector, there is a balancing act between spending R&D time (and therefore money) on developing new features vs. making sure that what you already have works well vs making a return for your shareholders. If a software developer favours innovation over maintenance and…
• economies of scale. Kind of akin to having a house built and then moving to an upgraded house - but keeping the old house and having to keep the upgrades in sync with the new house. Expensive - very. Not sure I follow you there. Rolling out changes to NetSuite is really no different from rolling out changes to any web…
• <snip> . If I am right about the infrastucture, I don't agree with JMU's assertion that it is possible to accomodate all users requirements. Steve, Point of clarification: I don't believe I made the assertion of "accomodate all users requirements". In any case, I did not intend to even imply such. My main points are:…
• Could be. Also, check you preferences on Max Entries in Dropdowns (Home > Set Preferences > General), and set it to a small number, like 10 or less. This is another UI issue:

If the number of values to select from are less than the above pref, then NetSuite displays a standard web drop-down list.
Otherwise, it…
• Hey guys, I think I have a work-around that works pretty good:

By default the Recipient field show the Customer name
Click at the end of the Customer name, and remove 1 or 2 characters
This will cause a drop-down list of Contacts for that Customer
Click on the Contact you want.
Try it, and see…
• We're trying to use "Run Unrestricted" to give a Role the ability to see results on a specific Opportunity Search but we don't want that Role to be able to search Opportunities on their own. We're unable to get it to work. Does anyone think this may be possible? You might try setting the role permission for Searches to…
• Version 2007 introduced a new feature or bug, and I really don't like it either way. Here's the sequence: I pull up an invoice, go to the message tab, click on the little grey email button, then I try to select a contact in the Recipient drop down list. In 10.0.6, the Recipient list was restricted to the customer and the…
• Anyone interested in following this topic may want to refer to the following thread:
Info on Ver 2007.0 Multi-Org
This is in the new forum Multi-Org / Consolidation which Darren setup to discuss multi-legal entity (i.e. Subsidiary) support and consolidation.
• 5) It’s a new product, not an add-on. It’s general release is planned for fall. Darren, just so you know, the Help system and Sneak Peak document are in direct conflict with this statement. From the Help System: Describes the new Subsidiary Management & Consolidation feature and functionality available as an Add-on module.…
• I don't need to track sales by territory shipped into but rather sales to the main customer (billing address) only. I have spoken to a few people at Netsuite about this and there is an enhancement request in place to open up the shipping addresses for full export as other customers apparently want this too. To Mike's point…
• 1) No User Guide yet (but coming). At this point, all of the Multi-Org/Consolidation material is provided in the Help in these two sections:
• Setting Up Subsidiary Management and Consolidation • Working with Subsidiary Management and Consolidation
We also have a Subsidiary Management and Consolidation…
• The multi-org functionality will released in October. Darren, Thanks for the update. Can you tell us when any documentation will be available (like Data Sheet, User's Guide, etc)? Thanks.
• I encourage everyone working with the SuiteScript API to check out the revamped API doc in the NetSuite Help Center (just click Help after logging in to your account). You can type SuiteScript API in the Help window Search field, or you can navigate to the API doc via the Scripting and Web Services folder in the Help…
• Have you tested the web services at all with the Beta? No, we did NOT, because web services is NOT a part of our workflow.
• P.S. - Recently downloaded a research white paper on the topic of "Competing on Analytics" If interested, would be happy to share it with you. Earl, please send me a copy. Thanks.
• Beta is currently scheduled to be upgraded to 2007.0.5 on Thursday night. Ken, this sounds good except our Beta is supposed to expire on 6/27. Can it be extended so we can finish our workflow testing? We did fix some problems for you in 2007.0.0 on Beta. Was it working better for you? Initially yes. Last week…
• I have a question on this module. Is it possible to use the Jobs and assign them to an Advanced Partner? . Amy, I believe so, but I'll need to double-check to be sure. You can definitely assign a Partner to a Customer, so I can't see why you couldn't assign them to a Project as well. The Advanced Partner Center (APC) is…
• For those of you that posted a few months ago...did you end up implementing the AJT module? Do you like it? Or if you did not implement it, why did you decide not to? Carrie, As of the 2007.0.5 release, AJT is all about manageing and tracking schedule and time. At this time there are no items associated with a Project or…
• Perhaps NS could offer a Webinar to illustrate the product? That would be great! :D What a concept! Company demos product to increase sales! Sorry, got carried away.
• The ERP Sneak Peek document from the 11.0 release contains the best overview of Advanced Jobs that I am aware of. Thanks Sean. This adds a little more detail, but not much, and, of course it is for the old version. Any chance a more detailed description will be forthcoming in Ver 2007.0 documents? If so, when will these be…
• I don't know for sure, but I suspect the check printing problem may be related to the same issue as printing invoices: some problem with 3rd party PDF fonts. See Getting Unexpected Error when printing invoices for more info on this. HTH.
• I should have been able to deploy the record-level script when I already had a form-level script defined....but I wasn't able to do that. Or did I miss something? Cecelia Since this was never answered, I have posed a followup question in the SuiteScript forum: Record-Level vs Form-Level Client Scripts
• Is this in Ver 2007.0 ?
• I have noticed that all users in all roles now have access to my suitescript file cabinet, including the option of deleting my scripts. What do I need to do to lock this back down? Wow! Great catch Angela! NetSuite: This is the most BASIC security violation! By DEFAULT, all users except the script owner, Administrator, and…
• First thing to check is that in the Acrobat print box you are set to no scaling. This is the only way we can accurately print the checks based on the new customization settings available in v2007.0. Our observation is that after doing this the various check components are about .2 inches too low. Evan, may I ask you a…
• I'm looking for an unabridged list of enhancements, features, changes in 2007.0 other than the sneak peak marketing material. We too would find such a list very helpful.
• The pricing import is coming into a later phase of the 2007 release. We will first support price levels in the 2007 maintenance release which is due on 6/23/07 and then will add support for multi-currency and qty pricing features towards the end of the rollout cycle. We apologize for not making price level import available…
• Steve and JM....did you check out the Release Notes PDF? It's pretty exhaustive (95 pages)...it also includes the tax changes. Cecelia Cecelia, Yes, I have read the Release Notes. As you say, it appears to be exhaustive, but is it? That is the question. There are three types of documents published in the Sneak Peek:…
• I checked out the help guides, and I found that I was supposed to turn off quantity pricing schedules, so I did. Question to NetSuite: Does this mean that even Ver 2007.0 will NOT support the import of Items when using quantity pricing?
