Hmmm...my problem is different...I can read and write to disabled fields (at least on custom task forms) but I cannot write to inline-displayed fields or hidden fields. ~Erik Erik, I think you need to check the "Show" checkbox for hidden fields so that it will be included in the HTML code but will not be displayed. HTH.

Knowing that there are all these issues pending fixing. Wouldn't it be wise to delay further upgrades on even more customers until these known issues are fixed and operational. ?. Seems obvious and prudent. One wouldn't think the users would have to bring such a common sense professional development best practice to the…

It is basic HTML/Browser behavior that disabled fields do not post their values. You can log an enhancement and we can potentially implement a workaround for this. Or, you can try re-enabling the fields in saveRecord. Thanks, -e Evan, I believe HTML supports a "ReadOnly" attribute. In this case the data is displayed to the…

plus, your people consistently mis-report our problems in your system, even when i try to dictate what to write... and even when i reply to cases correcting their errors. I have experienced exactly the same problem. I am very concerned that Issues get the wrong title/abstract. Can mislead everyone (management, developers,…

I "Read only" and "disabled" options would definitely be confusing for users. Thanks, -e Perhaps if you provide good help and documentation this would not be confusing. Clicking on the "Display Type" caption currently displays: Select the type of display you want this field to have. This is next to useless. Much more…

BTW issue 123916 has been entered to track this problem and should be resolved by the final 2007.0 phase. Thanks, Yang Yang, what is the resolution? IOW, how has the behavior of disabled fields changed?

NetSuite has emailed bogus Transaction information to our Customers. Mark, I agree, this is OUTRAGEOUS! Yet another example of NetSuite failing to do proper testing. How did you setup NetSuite to send these emails? Best Regards, JMU
-
JMU, are you seeing this too? Ken, not to my knowledge. We do NOT have any auto-emails configured at this time, although we are planning to do so in the near future. We have been sending mass emails to client groups however. Do you know what Jon's setup is? Best Regards, JMU

Actually we have a way to make disabled work correctly without using READONLY, which actually behaves slightly differently froma UI perspective. We are looking at this now. Thanks, -e IMO, it would be more CONSISTENT with standard HTML to leave DISABLED alone, and either change the NetSuite option to READONLY or ADD…

Feel free to contact me at gray@landbankers101.com for assistance. Gray, that is very kind of you to offer help. But I hope all exchanges will be done in this forum so that all interested parties (like me :) ) can also learn from your experience. Thanks.

Here's another: Units of Measure Bug or by Design???

Here's another example: NIGHTMARE: Zero Freight Items Charging Shipping NOTE to NetSuite: Since all NetSuite customers do NOT necessarily participate in the NS Users Group, it is vital that Netsuite use this to notify us of all serious bugs, particularly those in which no posting by the user has been made. Best Regards, JMU

NetSuite: The real question here is why aren't ALL fields available for DLE? What is the rationale you use to select those that are DLE? If you won't make ALL fields DLE, at least publish the fields that are DLE for each record.

NetSuite now reports this PROBLEM as fixed and released, but I don't see any changes in my reports. Here's the latest issue status from NetSuite: Issue Number 100024 Type Problem Severity S3 - Important Status Closed - Released SLT Age 10 Months Release Target 2WK of Dec 2006…

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!! NetSuite has known about this problem for 288 days -- they call it an "Enhancement". Here is the Issue from theCustomer Center: Issue Number 100024 Issue Type <strong><span style="color:'red'">Enhancement</span></strong> Product NetSuite Severity S3 - Important Reported In Version Live Site - 2/14…

Evan, Thanks for responding to, and fixing, this issue so quickly. Best Regards, JMU

Next Go to the filters tab and filter the report to only use the billing address. Step 1. Expand Customer / job > Expand Address Book > Select Default Billing. Step 2. When it gets added to the list of filter Set the value column to "equal to true" Lina, thank you for clarifying this. This was the part that was missing.…

This seems to be a sql join issue. I noticed this on some of my other search/reports when I'm pulling information from other tables. In your case, I assume that there are more than one address for the customer and the join will create additional rows that falsify the total. You're probably right. But they seemed to have…

Evan, The report is STILL not working. As I stated in my original report of the issue to Tech Support, and in this thread, the issue arises when the Customer State field is simply added as on output column. While there is a Billing Address field, there is NOT a Billing State field. I assume the Billing Address field refers…

The Customer Search must also do a join between the Customer table and the Address table. But it obviously limits the Address Table to one record -- the "Default Bill To" address. Reports should work the same way. More importantly, the end-user has NO control over the SQL used for reports. Therefore, tables/fields that…

To clarify, the STATE field must come from the Customer : Address Book folder. I need to report on the State of the Customer record, not the State that's on the Invoice record. Many of our customers have us Bill/Ship to locations OTHER than their main location that is placing the order. JMU

I'm trying to reset an employees password, because the forgot it, but they have 2 netsuite accounts. Carrie, Here's what I do:

Change one of the accounts to use a different email address, like adding a "2" to the name before the @ symbol.
Now change the PW in the other account.
Change the email back in…

Tom, There has been no fix. :( The only solution is to increase the size of the column to fit the data. The only column that will word-wrap is the Sales Description column. HTH.

Stephan, Have you looked at the "Merge" facility? When you edit a customer there should be a "Merge" button. Clicking this will allow you to merge all data and subrecords from that customer to another you select. Before doing this, I'd suggest checking the Help system, and testing this on two non-real test customers so you…

If you have any type of NetSuite phone support, you can also call in and give them the ER# and ask them to add your company/account to the list requesting this ER. Using either the online or the phone method will enable you to receive email notices when the status of the ER changes.

Class Division A : Product A Division A : Product B Division B : Product A Division B : Product B and so on..... You may want to rethink your use of Classes. Another approach is to use Locations (can rename to Divisions) and Items instead of your combination of Division : Product, although using Product Line might be a…

A best practice document titled "Segmenting your Chart of Accounts for Detailed Financial Reporting" is available in the Learning Center for download. I had a hard time finding this document, and the Best Practices section in general, so I thought I'd post the link here: NetSuite Best Practices The Chart of Accounts…

I have unticked "make inventory available" and still, even with no-inventory-available warnings popping up, staff are still putting through orders. NetSuite, so what is the purpose of this "make inventory available" field if it does NOT prevent inventory transactions for that Location?
-
Lee, Great question, but the best practice, IMO, is going to vary widely depending on a number of factors, some of which are:

Your type of business
Volume
Customer expectations
Resources available
Type of orders
Cost constraints
You would probably want to do a business process analysis. If…

Bob, If your EDI provider cannot provide you with a list of standard unit of measure (UOM) codes, then you can find some info via Google. Do a Google on each of these separately:

EDI UOM standards
EDI Unit of Measure standards
HTH.
