SRS, I think that is backwards...you want to put netsuite's ip's into your domain's spf records, so that other people who receive email from NS's servers but with your domain in the "From:" field will recognize NS's IP's as valid sending IP's for your domain. include:netsuite.com ~all

Create a miscellaneous other charge item. Issue a Cash Refund using the misc item from above, crediting back to old card. Issue a Cash Sale using the misc item from above, charging to new card. - OR - Issue Customer Refund using the misc item from above and the old credit card. That creates a credit balance in A/R. Now…

David, I agree that your complaint is a design flaw. Because the copy function does copy over all fields, BUT the flaw is that no one realized that some of the fields, e.g., tracking #, should NOT be copied during the copy process....this is a classic example of flawed/poor design.
-
Jim, I do agree that a 3rd option needs to be added to the drop-down menu classsifying the issue type so that we have a choice of: enhancement, defect, designflaw. Then product mgmt can review the designflaws and prioritize them appropriately.
-
Krish0nan-asset mgmt is an enhancement request, not a design flaw. We are discussing the bifurcation of design flaws versus enhancement requests, not the slow pace of implementing enhancements (albiet that is a related problem)
-
Yes I agree Jim's wanting a button to refresh prices is an enhancement request, not design flaw.

Angela, actually in NetSuite's defense here, you are requesting International capability on FedEx. The NS FedEx integration never was intended to support International, only Domestic. It was designed that way from the begining, with International to be added as some future date when enough interest was shown. NS has…

The merge sounds like it incorrectly merged the check into the customer record. Go edit the check, and change the Entity to be the employee record then save it. That will put the check back to the employee. Employees and Customers are separate. I know this seems stupid, but that is the design. Only customers can purchase…

I'm pretty sure there is a setup option somewhere called "Show Employees as Contacts" that has to be checked. (controls if the Employees are choosable on Invoices or Bills). I swear I've seen such an option. My Employees all show as being pickable on Invoices, but I am an old customer from 2002 so my acct could be…

NS does allow what are called "dual entity" or "multiple entity". The usual case for this would be an entity that is both a Vendor and a Customer. You create the entity using one of the types, and then go to the Info tab and create an additional relationship for the other type. If you have autonumbering turned-on, then you…

DMC: The Contacts are children of the Customer record. Unfortunately, the Contact's address is copied from the Customer record one-time when you first create the Contact record (depending if you have the option set to copy the address). From that point forward (after the copy), it is completely separate/independent data.…
-
I agree, but it doesn't. However there is a work-around if you need to create an export file for a mail merge or something like that. Create a Customer Saved Search. Pick the address fields you want (which will come from the company record), and then pick the Contact fields you want (which will come from the Contact…
-
There is an option in NS to have it copy the address from the Customer record to the Contact record for you when you create the Contact record. Here is the instructions from the online help for activating this option: Pre-populate Contact Records Save time creating contact records by auto-filling company information You…

TeleVantage (Now called Vertical). We've been using it since version 3.5. But, any CTI which installs a standard TAPI driver into windows will work with NetSuite for outbound dialing (all phone #'s are hyperlinked in NS and it will send a dial command to the TAPI driver in Windows)(you have to download a tiny DLL from NS…

If you are looking for ASP model, Five/Nine is ASP VOIP and fully integrated with NetSuite.

Mark, see other post on this same subject with more programming details: https://usergroup.netsuite.com/users/showthread.php?p=32459

Abby, it is there. Not real clear, but here is the link Olivier was talking about that lists all the whitepapers: https://central.netsuite.com/shared/3-1.html Here is the PDF for Rentals specifically: https://central.netsuite.com/shared/documents/BP%20-%20Rental%20and%20Loaner%20Units.pdf Then there is Ray Tetlow of…

D, since you have a legal requirement in Australia to keep accounting records for 7 years, then I would recommend to you to use the route of getting the ODBC driver (extra cost for this module) and setting-up MS SQL Server to mirror your NS data. This is very easy to do and is completely automatic. You can even schedule…
-
D, we had the old Enterprise Reporting Views service which used the Oracle 9i odbc driver and Putty to encrypt the data. (This was the old method that NS used to use before they rolled-out the current ODBC driver). We setup our MS SQL Server 2000 to synchronize with NS via the Oracle 9i ODBC driver. It worked great. You…

Also one other point, CSV export of transactions is virtually worthless because none of the linkages are present. So, as just one example, none of the payments will be applied. Yes you will get all the debits and credits, and the debits and credits will balance, BUT none of the linkages will be there. So every Invoice will…

you need an END CASE WHEN XXX THEN WWW WHEN YYY THEN ZZZ END
-
Yes Oliver's solution works, but when you subscribe to certain threads manually, when the email arrives, it shows the very first post in the thread, not the most recent one. Totally stupid design. This UG is run using a third party forum software, that they have modified somewhat.

Thanks, Phillip. You should add that URL as a hyperlink in the Help doc so we can click right to it!

Hello Andrew & mssmith. I do freelance consulting on NS for cheap rates. I was CFO of a company that used NS since 2002. You've seen my prolific posts on this usergroup. Contact me offline if you wish to discuss your project further nhorowitz@axeus.com

Oliver, if you do a Saved Search on the System Notes table with the InternalID of the deleted txn, can you see the notes that way? I swear in ODBC you can still see the entries in the System Notes table.

It is much easier on your precious time, to open a ticket online and let them respond to you on their timeframe. I never call-in on the phone, and we have Platinum support!
-
I think there is a link in Setup to close your account and delete all your data...and/or in the Customer Center where your list of past Invoices is listed.
-
You cannot merge or delete these hard-coded, required accounts because NS uses them for various accounting purposes and they must exist. But you CAN renumber them and make them children, so you can get them integrated into your chart of accounts very easily and put them where they belong logically in your COA.
-
Works just like QuickBooks. Make the acct to go away a child of the parent acct to survive. Then use the "Merge" button and the child will be merged into the parent.

And when your contract expires and you are ready to move another software, you'll have to hire the Chinese all over again to key everything into the new software!
