It can't be done. In the past, I made three separate items (and each had an assigned box) and I combine the three items into a kit ...NS disregards the boxes used in the individual items that made up the kit. I haven't tried it with Item Groups. We couldn't use groups because you can't edit a group's price. T

It still can't be done. We could still use this feature as well. -Tom

One shortcoming with package dimensions is that multi packages don't work. NetSuite ignores packages setting when they are members of a kit. Item "A" can be set to a 1-pack box that measures 12"x12"x12". Item "B" can be set to a 1-pack box that measures 13"x13"x13". So, you might think that an "A+B" kit item would…

Lamedeer, Thanks, but I've done that. It works most of the time, but occasionally we have a Canadian calling to tell us that they're getting a message that says "we can't ship to your specified location with the shipping method that you have selected". So, I assume that it's picking "UPS ground" and not "UPS standard" and…

The implementation of the residential flag is broken until it's exposed to the customer as an editable field. It just has no value if: a) it always defaults to either YES or NO (according to our preference) and b) is not something the customer can modify. I agree. netSuite, when will this be fixed. it has been an issue…

I got it figured out. The biggest issue was that the batch file was being ignored even after I picked the batch file as the preferred program in the browser's settings for how to handle an EPL2 file. The tip that helped was in a different thread in the UG. It gave custom security settings to use and it also said to use the…

Could the residential flag be exposed to the customer with a workflow? One could add a custom "address type" field and put it in the cart on the page where customers enter their address. Then at some point it sets the NetSuite residential flag to whatever was selected for the custom field. Now, if I just understood the…

It worked yesterday, but we came in today and it wouldn't print. I'm not a fan of USB-to-serial converters or USB-to-printer-port converters. They seem to be problematic. I decided to ditch the converter cable and go back to the direct USB connection. It is a Zebra/Eltron LP2844 printer and we don't need to print to it…

Was this ever fixed? I understand that tags can be used to pull fields, for example: <%=getCurrentAttribute('salesorder','shipmethod' )% >, works to pull in the shipping method. However, none of the following work: <%=getCurrentAttribute('salesorder','shipdate')% > <%=getCurrentAttribute('salesorder','actualshipd at e')% >…

Yes, I looked at OZLink and I'm not interested. As for the Address Validation APIs that I was talking about... https://www.ups.com/upsdeveloperkit?loc=en_US

...we cannot find anywhere to account for the weight of the packaging (box and filler material.) Log in as admin. Go to setup->accounting-> shipping ..then click on the packages tab. Each package that you create will have a place for you to enter a weight for the packaging materials. The package weight will be combined…

Jasone, how does one apply the batch script that you provided? It is for a mac user, right? On a different topic, here is a mac program that works a lot like WorldShip and also works with thermal printers.http://www.nrgsoft.com/products/mac/ups/macpro/index.php T

Thanks Bob. I use folder actions to auto-upload (via ftp) any new files dropped into a specific folder on my mac. I love the folder actions for mac. Can you post a screen shot of the folder action that you created to print EPL2 files? Thanks, Tom

Yes, it is at... Setup > Accounting > Shipping > Packages subtab ..when logged into the administrator role. NS puts all items in one "virtual box" unless "ships alone" is specified for an item. T
-
You've got to be logged in as the administrator to edit packages. Well, at least in our account. Also, one big shortcoming with packages is with how they are handled in kits. You can have TWO items that each have different boxes specified. You combine the two items into a kit and NS disregards the members box settings. It…

We found one of the issues and it goes back many years in NetSuite. We have added a custom field to NetSuite and it asks "is this a residential address?" during store check-out. Unfortunately, we aren't clever enough to make that information auto-transferred over to the customer's record prior to the web-store order being…

Enhancement 106570 and Enhancement 130037
-
They gave me an enhancement number. Enhancement 53445 Description: Shipping - Charging Handling table. It isn't a very detailed description, so I'll just assume that they have a proper description somewhere that only NS can access. -T
-
Disregard the case listed above. I found it's detailed description and it says... Shipping / Handling: provide a way to charge a per weight unit increase to a flat rate if weight exceeds specified quantity. That is not what we are looking for. T
-
The shipping and/or handling cost on the item record is an "either or" proposition. In other words, for "UPS ground handling" ...you would set NS to use the handling rate in the UPS ground "shipping item" or in the item record, but not both. Also, you set NS to use the shipping rate in the UPS ground "shipping item" or in…
-
That is also an either/or proposition. You use shipping tables or you don't. You don't combine them with any other handling rules. There are two or three places where they need a "use this in addition to" option. -Tom
-
Is there still no way to do this? We also can't dump the approval process in order to get NetSuite to commit inventory on an unapproved orders. Is there another way? -Tom
-
Yea, I wasn't implying that NS is slow to add requested features. While the slowness point may be true, I was actually just giving him a date range in case he wanted to find the enhancement and add his name to it. After looking for it, I came up with nothing. Its probably in there somewhere, but I couldn't find it. T
-
They almost need a new status "approved & backordered". So, if we approve an order that only has items without available inventory, then it commits the inventory, but sets the SO to status = "approved & backordered". We need them committed when back-ordered because otherwise NetSuite calculates the wrong order amounts for…

However, if you wanted to print Endicia labels outside of NetSuite, you would have to sign up for an additional Endicia account of a different type; for technical reasons the NetSuite-integrated accounts cannot be used with their desktop software or other 'flavors' of service. I think it is also for financial reasons. The…

I just got a response to my case. He basically retracted his description of what that field does and then described it just like what I was telling him it should do. It IS just for the weight of the box (as we had hoped). It is NOT for the weight of the box and all the contents that will be in it (as we were initially…
-
When was it introduced? I just recently noticed it. I figured that it was VERY new because when I went to the "HELP" section of NetSuite ...it made NO MENTION of any weight column in the "packages instructions". See attached image...

OK, I'm re-interested in Shipwire for fulfillment. Has anyone used them and stayed with them? I'm looking for positive reviews of their service... or negative ...so, I can make up my mind on using them. -Tom

I found a few drawbacks. 1) You can't use your UPS account and may loose some discounts that you have established with UPS. I asked the rep if we still get the UPS volume discounts using their service and he wouldn't answer. He would say "I can't say that you'll get the UPS discounts, but I think you'll find our overall…
