NSC | How to Get Item Display Image Field's Internal ID via Workflow

Scenario:

A user is experiencing an issue with a workflow formula. The goal is to extract the internal ID of an image in the "Item Display Image" field and save it to a custom field. However, the formula {storedisplayimage} returns the image filename instead of the desired ID.

Solution:

Workflow

  1. Create a workflow by navigating to Customization > Workflow > Workflows > New.
  2. Input the following values:
    1. Basic Information
      1. Record type: Item
      2. Subtypes: as needed
      3. Name
      4. Execute as Admin: true
      5. Release Status: Released
    2. Initiation
      1. Event Based: true
    3. Event Definition
      1. On Create: true
      2. On View or Update: true

Workflow Action

  1. On your newly created workflow, double click
