"Transactions > Bank > Make Deposit" - what is it exactly?

I just finished documenting a new business process for our change over to use Deposit transactions to record bank deposits.  We creates hundreds, sometimes thousands of individual Payment transactions from a single check.  In order to organize this for reconciliation purposes we are using the Deposit transaction.

Well, the UI for this is really terrible for our use case.  I got through it, but was thinking that I should probably develop a custom interface for this process.  I checked the help and it appears that the "Deposit" transaction is not supported in SuiteScript or SuiteTalk.

Does anyone know if this record is maybe called something else in SuiteFlex?  Is it really not possible to work with these transactions with any of the customization APIs?
