Updating a customer record based on changes to its Contacts sublist under Relationships subtab
The Contacts sublist under Relationships subtab of the customer record is not accessible in SuiteScript. However, if you are planning to automate the update of a customer record based on the information under its Contacts sublist via SuiteScript, you can still do so because you can use a saved search to get information on the listed contacts.
- Deploy a user event with beforeSubmit function on the customer record. Note that a client script will not work as an alternative for this step because making a change in Contacts sublist does not trigger any client script function.
- Create or load a customer saved search in the script. The criteria/filters of the saved search should be the customer internal ID and values from any number of joined fields from its contacts.
