Is there a way around ERROR: Field Is Restricted in a saved search column?

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:35PM in Ask A Guru 8 comments

Hi,

I have a saved search of purchase order records that contains some formula columns. Everything works fine except for the employee center. There, those formula columns return "Error: Field is restricted". I isolated the issue and it happens because I use the subsidiary in the formula's "CASE WHEN" condition. However, even if I select the "All" subsidiaries and the "Allow cross-subsidiary record viewing" on the employee center role record, nothing changes. Also, running the saved search unrestricted doesn't change anything.

The strange thing is that even for purchase orders that are created by me through the employee center role (which I can view and edit from that role) and even if the subsidiary on the purchase order is the same as the one in the formula condition and on my employee record, I still get the same error.

Howdy, Stranger!
