NSC | What happens to the existing subrecords if I change the Customer's Contact email address?

The customer would like to know what the possible impact is if you change the contact's email address, given that it is attached to a customer record.


  • The existing messages in the Contact records still remain.
  • The assigned roles are still provisioned, and there is no need to assign or reset a new password. (If the contact record was given access to roles.)


An enhancement request is logged under #119804 to add the Email field in the Mass Update feature to easily change the contact's email addresses. As a workaround, you can create a search to pull Contacts that need changes and update the Customer record through a CSV import.
