Can you specify a custom form on a sales order SOAP request?

I am not a developer but am trying to determine a solution to a severe performance issue we are having with an integration to a 3rd party WMS.

When they make the SOAP request for a selection of sales orders, they are not specifying which fields to return and I believe that means that NetSuite is returning ALL fields (native and custom) associated with the preferred Sales Order form. As a result, most of the requests that try to return more than 10 sales orders is timing out due to the large number of fields being returned (approximately 450 fields).

I am hoping they could make a single change to specify a custom form that only contains the 25 fields needed for the integration instead of having them hard code the fields in the SOAP code.
