Saved Search from SOAP is missing some transactions from UI

I have a SavedSearch which I am trying to access via an API call to the Soap web services API. However, certain transactions that show up in the web UI do not appear in the results from the SOAP API.

The missing transactions are all of 'Currency Revaluation' or 'Transfer'. All transactions of those types are missing and only transactions of those types are missing. I can see the transactions in the UI and excel export when logged in as the same user that is making the API call.

The only other common denominator I can see is that, when viewing the transaction detail, the missing transactions do not have the grey box that says 'Approved for Posting', 'Approved', or 'Deposited' that I see for the included transactions. However, I don't know if that field is specific to Journal or Bill Payment entries.
