In our previous New to Netsuite discussion about Custom Centers: Center Tabs, we delved into the world of Center Tabs. Now, we are excited to guide you through the process of creating Center Links. Join us as we take the next step in expanding your NetSuite proficiency. Let's dive in!
Personalize links for your categories in NetSuite. Center links navigate to pages within NetSuite, custom records, Suitelets, or external sites. Customize center links when the Custom Records feature is active; users with permission, including administrators, can start the process.
You have the option to generate center links leading to NetSuite pages. To generate links to NetSuite pages, custom records, and Suitelets:
1. Navigate to Customization > Centers and Tabs > Center Categories.
2. Once on the Center Categories list page, click the Edit button next to the category where you intend to include links.
3. Proceed to the Custom Center Category Values subtab.
Here, choose the NetSuite page, custom record, or Suitelet from the Link list that you want to link to. If you are linking to a NetSuite page, ensure that you use an account-specific domain.
4. Enter a label for the link in the Label column. This label will appear beside the category in the user interface.
5. If applicable to your center type, tick the Short List column to specify whether the link should appear in a portlet when placed in a narrow column of the dashboard. Check the box to enable this setting.
6. Click the Add button.
Note: The link will open in the existing window; setting up a link to open in a new window is not supported.
7. On the Translation subtab, input translated labels for the custom link. Keep in mind that the Translation subtab is only available if the Multi–Languages feature is enabled in your account.
8. For centers supporting it, you can specify the link that will appear in portlet when placed in a narrow column of the dashboard by ticking the Short List column. Note that for custom tabs, the link always displays on the links portlet, irrespective of the Short List setting.
9. Complete any additional required values. To modify the order, select an item in the list and drag it to another position. Alternatively, choose an item and use the Move Up, Move Down, Move to Top, or Move to Bottom options.
10. Finally, click Save.
Output:
In summary, Custom Centers: Center Links offer a personalized and efficient way to navigate NetSuite. Tailor your experience, explore diverse destinations, and take control of your journey with the customized power of Center Links."
