How do I create one outsourced manufacturing charge item with different values?

edited Feb 1, 2024 2:49PM in Ask A Guru 5 comments

Hi

I have multiple outsourced manufacturers that produce goods.

The finished goods are assembly items that are costed using standard cost.

I have set up an Other Charge for Purchase-Outsourced Manufacturing Charge item.

How do I use this one charge item, with different values?

For example:

Assembly Items:

1.250ml Balancing Shampoo. Outsourced manufacturing charge: $1.24

2. 275ml Hydrating conditioner. Outsourced manufacturing charge: $3.15

How do I set different outsourced manufacturing charges, for the different items, for the purposes of standard costing?

The BOM will have a quantity of 1 in both cases

Quantities for the charge component can't be edited on a BOM when the charge type has been set up with a cost category of 'Outsourced Charge'

Howdy, Stranger!
