PDF file received form an online form won't set in a document field on custom record

in NetSuite Developer Community 2 comments

We receive files from customers via an online external form and use a suitelet to process the information and save it to a custom record. The files are first saved to Netsuite file cabinet then the file id is used to populate the document field on the custom record. when this file is a jpg or png the field is populated and the record saved, but when the file is a pdf I get the below error.

"type":"error.SuiteScriptError","name":"INVALID_FLD_VALUE","message":"You have entered an Invalid Field Value 8101242 for the following field: custrecord_wpa_receipt"

Does anyone know why this is happening for just pdf's
