Ship Via field not carrying over from Sales Order to Item Fulfillment

I've imported a bunch of orders via smbXML without any issues, have been fulfilling orders just fine. Just one question:
When we import the Sales Order, we specify the Shipping Method in the "Ship Via" field as "USPS." However, when we get to the Sales Order and click "Fulfill" to create an item fulfillment manually, the Ship Via field in the Item Fulfillment does not have the "Ship Via" field pre-populated like I would expect. As a matter of fact, that is the ONLY field that is not carrying over. I have a few custom fields that I define, and the values there are being carried over.
