Item Serial Number Functionality on Custom Records
I would like to partially recreate the serial number functionality that is built in to the NetSuite case forms on a custom record I have created.
We have a custom record type set up to track internal QC (quality control) events. Employees can select a NetSuite part number on this custom record. I would then like to provide a drop-down list of available serial numbers for that part number (assuming the item was set up as a serialized item). This would work just like the serial number drop down on the case forms, except it would not be dependent on the customer field and would only source available serial numbers (we only do QC events on items that haven't shipped yet).
