Reverse Auto Generated Numers for customers

I have an original set up that sets an auto generated number for a client.
Is there any way of reversing this? Presently after disabling auto generate from Setup > Company it is then required to uncheck the Auto check box in each client individually - is there a way to do this all in one go? I can't find a field for it for mass updates.
