Saved Searches not Updating

When I create a saved search in the Netsuite Portal and reference it in webservices by id everything works. However if I go back to the portal and change the criteria or any of the columns, the data retrieved by webservices is reflected by the changes. Anyone know what is the cause/solution? I have been having to create new saved searches to circumvent this.
