Create Rate discount on line items

Hello All

I am sure this is a trivial fix but I can't seem to resolve.

When I create Opportunities, Estimates or Sales Orders I wan to be able to do the following

Item 1 - Rate £100  Qty 10 Discount 10% total amount £1000 total amount with discount £900

The discount may be variable so I want to be able to define it on the line individually -  has anyone achieved something similar
