Contract Item -- "Owner" Field Intent & Functionality
Does anyone know the full functionality and intent of the "Owner" field on a Contract Item?
In very common fashion, NetSuite hasn't provided any detail in the field description to explain anything, as shown here:

We're using the Contract Renewals module for auto-renewing subscriptions, and our system default for the "Owner" field is always "-System-" when Contract Items are created in the renewal cycle.
I'd like to know what impact there is for changing a Contract Item's "Owner" before and after the Item system renews.
